how-to-use-tea-tree-oil-for-dandruff-scalp-treatment

The skin on our scalp is quite sensitive, which leaves it vulnerable to skin conditions. Minor fungal infections are often responsible for itchiness and dandruff. But what exactly is dandruff? It is actually just dead skin cells that have clumped together due to the buildup of oils, and the result is a slightly itchy, flaky scalp.

There is only one thing I’ve ever used to combat dandruff, and it has always worked really well for me. I love using natural ingredients to solve my beauty problems, and tea tree essential oil is an affordable and the MOST effective way of getting rid of dandruff. Studies have shown that Tea Tree Oil effectively fights bacteria, viruses, and fungi.

Tea tree oil is not only a great solution for dandruff, but can also treat dry scalp as it is nourishes your scalp and helps to clear the blockages in the pores which ultimately cures dry scalp.

The best part? It can be used on any type of hair, no matter what style, texture or length. You can use this miracle oil in the following two ways to get rid of dandruff:

#1

Simply add tea tree oil to the shampoo that you use. Massage your hair thoroughly and allow the tea tree oil mixture to sit on your hair for at least 3-5 minutes. This will let the oil work itself into the hair and begin to treat the scalp. After the oil has set, rinse the shampoo from your hair.

My advice is to add only 10 drops of tea tree oil for every 8 ounces of shampoo. If too much is used, it may actually make your hair weak and brittle.

#2

To get faster results, apply an overnight treatment. All you have to do is fill a small, empty bottle about three-quarters full with almond oil, coconut oil, olive oil or castor oil. Then add 10-15 drops of tea tree oil and mix well. Apply the mixture to your scalp by massaging it in for a few minutes, ensuring the scalp is completely saturated. Cover your hair to avoid getting the oil on your pillowcase, and leave it on overnight. In the morning, wash your hair as you normally would with shampoo, and then condition.

You’ll see a difference after a couple of uses, depending on how severe the problem is! And If natural DIYs aren’t your thing, I swear by Pure Tea Tree Oil  Anti-Dandruff Shampoo, $10, for getting rid of dandruff in just a few washes.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Patch test is recommended, to make sure you don’t have an allergic reaction. Place a few drops of tea tree oil on a small patch of skin and watch for any signs of irritation for 24 hours. If you don’t have a reaction, it should be fine to apply it on a larger area, such as your scalp.
