How To Make Your Own Liquid Illuminator

That one beauty product which has always been a major player in the makeup world is—highlighter. Applying a highlighter after you apply your foundation is a great way to make your skin look more glowing and natural. Some people prefer applying it underneath the foundation to achieve that gorgeous strobing effect.

DIY Liquid Highlighter

There are powder highlighters and there are liquid highlighters. If you ever run out of your powder highlighter, you can always use a gold/silver eyeshadow as an alternative using a small brush. So it’s not much of a task. Today, we are specifically going to talk about how you can make your own liquid highlighter by mixing a few basic makeup products.

What You’ll Need:

  • Your favorite eyeshadow/pigments
  • Liquid foundation (It will work as a base)

Method:

  • Take a pea-sized amount of liquid foundation into a small container.
  • Scrape the eyeshadow color that complements your skin tone into the same container.
  • Mix both well and apply it under or over your foundation.

If you want that beautiful strobe effect or you simply love cream highlighters, You can use cream as a base instead, but make sure it’s not too runny nor thick, and try to avoid opaque creams as well, like the Nivea creme. We recommend using gel-based / translucent creams, they are hydrating and are very smooth and light in texture too.

Gently rub it on the highest points of your face – temples, down the bridge of your nose, under the brow bone and right on the bow of your lip to make them look fuller. For a sexy sheen, apply it to your collarbones and centre of your shoulders as well.

However, If you’re wearing some leg exposing outfit, you can apply it on the shinbone and also the thighbone.
